Rehab Centre

Rehab Centre:
Rehab stands for Residential rehabilitation. Rehab help a person recover from addictions, injuries, and even physical or mental illnesses. People addicted to drugs often need the additional care and assistance that drug rehab provides. However, drug rehab programs are usually the most common types of rehab.
What Is Drug Rehab?
Drug rehab helps the drug addict to get back into the normal life and they prepare addict to re- enter into the society. Addiction of drug changes the person’s behavior, which can affect all the aspects of his life, including work and relationships. So in order to take them to the normal life drug rehab help the patients to do their best to regain their normal lives in a safe and healthy way.
There are many different types of drug rehab facilities. Some specialize in helping patients with a specific drug addiction; others offer a broader range of drug addiction services. Some rehab facilities are even gender or age specific, as this often helps patients feel more comfortable in the rehab setting. Inpatient and outpatient rehab facilities are also available.
Before entering a rehab facility, patients may have to undergo Detox treatment.
Detox is the process in which a patient rids his or her body of the addictive substance. This process usually takes about a week and is monitored by doctors and nurses. Once a patient completes detox, he or she is ready for rehab.
Way towards Recovery:
Doctors and counselors in rehab centers help patients make goals for themselves. Patients commit to themselves and their loved ones that they will strive to make a positive change in their lives. They make long-term goals and then short-term goals that help them along the way.
Doctors educate them on the consequences and effects of drug abuse and addiction. Patients learn about the effects that the drugs have on their bodies in the hopes that they will be more motivated to make a change.
Drug rehab treatment centers offer frequent individual counseling to patients. These counseling sessions sometimes even take place on a daily basis. Counselors help patients discover any emotional or psychological factors that may have contributed to their addictions.
Life Changes in Addiction Rehab:
Patients in drug rehab treatment programs are encouraged to end toxic relationships. Patients are encouraged to seek help from other people who can support them on their journey. These supportive relationships could include friends, family members, and even other rehab patients. Counselors in rehab facilities can also teach family members and friends of patients how they can help. They can learn about the coping skills that the patients are learning, the different drug abuse triggers, and the best ways to show love and support.
Many rehab patients continue to receive treatment for their addictions after leaving rehab. They may have regular clinic visits with a doctor to manage physical symptoms. Patients may also meet with a counselor on a regular, outpatient basis to refine coping skills. All of these aftercare services help patients remain drug free and avoid relapse

ALCOHOL ABUSE

Alcohol abuse is the habitual excessive use of alcohol. It was reclassified as alcohol use disorder (alcoholism) along with alcohol dependence. There are two types of alcohol abuse, those who have anti-social and pleasure-seeking tendencies, and those who are anxiety-ridden people who are able to go without drinking for long periods of time but are unable to control themselves once they start.
Binge Drinking is another form of alcohol abuse. It is defined as consuming more than five units in men and four units in women. It increases chances for vandalism, fights, violent behaviors, injuries, drunk, trouble with police, negative health, social, economic, or legal consequences to occur.
Signs of alcohol abuse show its drastic effects on the central nervous system, including inebriation and poor judgment; chronic anxiety, irritability, and insomnia. Alcohol's effects on the liver include elevated liver function tests (classically AST is at least twice as high as ALT). Prolonged use leads to cirrhosis and liver failure. With cirrhosis, patients develop an inability to process hormones and toxins.
Approaches like contingency management and motivational interviewing have shown to be effective means of treating substance abuse in impulsive adolescents by focusing on positive rewards and redirecting them towards healthier goals. Educating youth about what is considered heavy drinking along with helping them focus on their own drinking behaviors has been shown to effectively change their perceptions of drinking and could potentially help them to avoid alcohol abuse. A strong social network and family support maybe important in achieving this goal.
